Two cute new printers from Canon

Just in time for summer (what happened to summer, by the way? If someone could let me know that'd be great, thanks) Canon have released two teeny new dye-sub photo printers, the Selphy CP780 and the Selphy CP790.

selphy cp780  This sleek turquoise number is the CP780, which claims to be able to print is as little time as 47 seconds - you can also print things like miniature stickers and business cards, if you fancy it. It comes in blue, pink, traditional white and silver. It'll cost £129.99 and will go on sale in mid-June.

CP790  And this spicy lime-green affair is the CP790, which has been "smartly designed for maximum ease-of-use and convenience". Now, we've not tested either of these printers yet, but this one's already our favourite because....

bucket

... with the optional battery pack you can carry it around in this matching storage bucket (right) and print where-ever you go! For goodness's sake, this is fantastic. Why have we never had printers in buckets before?

If it wasn't beach-friendly enough, the range of available media includes postcards - so you've got no excuse for not taking a photograph of yourself on holiday, quickly printing it on the beach using the Selphy CP790, popping a stamp on your postcard and sending it home. Result.

The CP790 will cost slightly more than its bedfellow - £169.99 (no word on whether the funky bucket comes with this printer) and it'll be on sale in July.

This looks awesome. Too bad it's only a concept camera at the moment... everything's so simple!
